    Bid Manager

    Location: London or Belfast - hybrid mix of office (approx. 2 -3 days/week) and home working

    The role:

    To support the next phase of our climate tech startup, we are hiring a Bid Manager to drive commercial growth and strengthen our service offering. You will take ownership of identifying suitable tender opportunities and coordinate the writing and submission process. You will build out our consultant and partner network to broaden our delivery capabilities and identify opportunities to develop our use cases. You will work closely with the Commercial and Technical teams to ensure strong bids are developed and lead the lessons learned process to ensure we are refining our offering and how we articulate it to meet client needs. You will also act as the primary point of contact to coordinate joint and consortium bids. The key objectives of this role are to perfect our bid response process with the view of increasing our success ratio on public sector bids and build our name as the ‘go to’ software to measure, manage, and plan carbon reduction across the public sector.

    Duties include: 

    • Identify appropriate bids that meet our skill sets and delivery capabilities

    • Coordinate the end-to-end Proposal Development Process for new and existing bids

    • Analyse tender documents to understand the needs of the client

    • Write compelling content for any bids, and oversee all documentation required to secure new contracts

    • Work closely with our technical and commercial teams to develop a thorough understanding of our solutions, methodology and approach and translate this back to the bid development

    • Plan and prepare documentation including relevant governance and supporting evidence relating to bid requirements 

    • Draft and maintain high quality samples, templates and materials for future bids

    • Remain involved post bid submission to coordinate presentation, negotiation and lessons learned to be implemented in future bids

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, including attending relevant events to source new leads

    • Proactively maintain a view of active and upcoming bids in order to develop key strategic relationships

    • Study relevant award criteria of new and existing funds and curate our offering in order to meet the requirements 

    • Develop a consultant/partner network that can be drawn upon for specialise skill sets etc. to allow us to submit strong join and consortium bids where necessary

    • Maintain and develop relationships with existing partner organisations to ensure the continued uptake of our solution

    What you bring to the team:

    • A minimum of 3+ years bid development experience, including successfully writing, managing and winning high value bid opportunities, ideally with experience in the public sector

    • Demonstrable track record of full lifecycle proposal development experience from RFP/ITT through to grant allocation

    • Ability to translate technical project requirements into commercial bid proposals

    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and various internal and external stakeholders throughout the bid process 

    • Sound commercial acumen, with the ability to manage complex business relationships and multiple resources to deliver winning bids

    • Experience with Government funded initiatives is highly desirable (e.g. InnovateUK, UKSPF)

    • Relevant experience in one or more of the following fields is desirable: Tech, Climate, public sector 

    • An excellent communicator, with high level fluency in both verbal and written English

    • Thorough attention to detail and high level of accuracy to deliver quality bids on time
