Sustainability at Climate Essentials

Measuring our own impact

We help companies measure and reduce their emissions, and we hold ourselves to the same process. We measure our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions each year, publish our reduction plan, and report on our progress openly.

01
We measure everything our full footprint

Our footprint covers Scopes 1, 2 and every Scope 3 category assessed as relevant, not just the five categories required for public sector reporting.

02
We have cut our emissions by a third

From 21.22 tCO2e in 2022 to 14.19 tCO2e in 2025, driven by reduced gas and electricity use, a slow travel policy and supplier engagement.

03
We report progress we can actually evidence

Scope 2 is reported on a location-based basis, so our reduction reflects electricity we have stopped using. Offsets are disclosed separately.

04
We publish what is not on track

Our Carbon Reduction Plan sets out where our current emissions and reduction measures fall short of our targets, and the actions needed to close those gaps. It is designed to show what needs to change, not just what we are already doing.

05
We are independently held to account

As a Certified B Corporation we are verified against standards covering our staff, customers, community and environment, and reassessed every three years to keep it.
